Is it considered smart if a 9 year old knows...?

Well... the only bit I don''t know there is how to say 'I don't speak French' in French, but I don't take French at school, I do Spanish. But I was taught about convection currents and tectonic plates in Year 7 and I learnt about Anthromorphism in English last term and I knew what DNA stood for in a book I read. So I wouldn't exactly count him as smart but knowledgeable.
