How to get rid of fruit flies?

There are a bunch of fruit flies in my room! They are all in a pile together perched on a hanger in my closet. I've tried putting out a bowl of dish soap and apple cider vinegar but that's not working. Would I be able to suck them up with the vacuum or spray them with bug spray?
