Why does this way to dispose of (nuclear) waste doesn't work?

a large amount of nuclear waste materials are recyclable. it,s politics, not science, that stands in the way of waste material handling. there is machinery that can dispose of almost all hazardous waste. the equipment is large, and expensive. the only end use products are various useful gases, and vitrified glass. it is also energy intensive. nobody wants to pay to recycle dangerous chemicals, etc. that,s the biggest reason why so much hazardous waste gets stored.
