By what process does hot molten magma become rock?

Generally by cooling and crystallizing. The rates of both depend on whether the magma is erupted or not, the location of the magma, and the mineralogy of the magma. If it is erupted, it will cool much more quickly than if it crystallizes slowly underground ie- in a pluton. This is a very broad question, I hope this very broad explanation helps.
